Piggy Paint

I couldn't help myself. I wanted to paint Presley's toes! So I purchased some kid friendly, non toxic, fast, drying nail polish from Amazon. Called Piggy Paint. And I painted P's toes!

Piggy Paint

My cousin came over yesterday with her twins daughters and was impressed my how cute and how well they looked, asking... "how in the world did you get her to stay still to do that?!"

Well the answer is it was easy. I painted them while she was in the highchair eating blueberries. She paid me no attention what-so-ever. It was easy because I sat in a chair with her foot in my hand, she was distracted and they dried fast!

Getting a picture of her toes was harder than painting them!

It was also funny and cute for her to look at her toes afterwards. She touched and talked about them. I thinking she was saying... "ohhh sooo pretty!"

Cheese Toast with Spinach

Cheese Toast has been one of the twins favorite food for months now. The twins received breastmilk for 10 months, formula for 2, now they drink whole milk. When the twins were feed breastmilk and formula I still wanted them to eat a healthy variety of foods but because they were getting the essential vitamins through BM and formula I didn't worry as much if they didn't seem to like something.

My twins have also (mainly N) entered a picky eater stage... that I am refusing to accept. So I am conquering this stage by sneaking healthy foods into some of their favorites.

So I have added spinach to their cheese toast they eat it and love it all the same! WIN! I am going to make it like this for YEARS to come!

I cut the whole wheat toast and cheese and half. Then I cut the spinach up into tiny pieces and but it between the two pieces of cheese. I toast and then use kitchen scissors to cut in to small squares so they can self feed.

I have so added spinach to my quiche recipe and the twins love it!

Playroom Make-Over!

I really have no idea where I am getting this energy from... but since the school year has finished and I am on summer break I have been cleaning and organizing my house like crazy.

I have three major projects I would like to complete over my summer vacation. They are as follows: 1. re-do the twins closet for maximum storage. 2. Add a pantry to my kitchen and add pull out drawers to the bottom cabinets. 3. Create the playroom!

We live in a pretty big house. But it was built in 1977, and for a lot of reasons that sucks! The house is 4 bedrooms and 2037 square feet. Every closet is tiny! And we do not have a pantry. It is also a bi-level which is very characteristic of the time period.

We do most of our "living" in the upstairs of our house. The downstairs has a huge open room, bathroom, bedroom, laundry room and a mud room.

Mike likes to call the downstairs his "man cave" well the man cave is becoming the playroom!

I am so tired of my living room looking like this... and this is after I cleaned everything up!

Tonight Mike packed up the baby swings, jumper-roos, and ex-saucers (tear), and the room looks clear and ready for a make over.

I want to sell the chair and a half and matching couch but every time I bring up the topic to Mike he freaks out. It was his furniture in his apartment before we got married. It is obviously going to have to go as it does not fit into my playroom plans.

Here are the before pictures! Taken tonight.

I am going to be pinteresting away on playroom ideas and must haves!

Smoking HOT deals this week at Martin’s

Smoking HOT deals this week at Martin’s... sale ends June 29th.

I scored some hot deals at Martin this week and want to share them so that you can get them too!

First off Kroger is my normal grocery store, I thought I would be switching over to Martin’s when Kroger stopped doubling coupons… but really I have been continuing to shop at Kroger because I am familiar with the store and most of the times I really don’t have that many food coupons because most of the foods I buy are not food products.

This week Martin’s got me in the store with a coupon mailer for save $5 off a $30 purchase.

Since we had just came back from vacation I had not done my homework – meaning I had NOT read the sales ad before arriving.

When I got to the store I picked up the ad and quickly noticed some KNOCK OUT DEALS!!! So blah blah here they are…

Yoplait Greek Yogurt is part of a fuel perks promotion. When you buy 7 cups of yogurt, you save 40 cents of a gallon off gas.

There is a coupon to save a $1 off of 5 cups on coupons.com click this link to print! At check out a coupon printed out of the Catalina machine to save another $1 on a future Yoplait yogurt purchase.

So I thought hmmm I am going to do this again, and lo and behold, I got another 40 cents of a gallon promotion! I have no idea how many times you can repeat this promotion… I am going to look it to this… UPDATED: you can do this promotion up to 10 times.

So I purchased 14 yoplait greek yogurts for $11 (used 2-$1 coupons and $1 Catalina coupon) and earned 80 cent of a gallon in fuel perks. My car has a 16 gallon tank so when I fill up (I am waiting until I am on empty), I will save about $12.80 on my fill up. Meaning my yogurt was free or I got paid a $1.80 to take home 14 cups of Yoplait greek yogurt!

The twins eat Greek yogurt everyday so this is a major score!

Another awesome deal I spotted this week was the Kraft Cheese Deal. There are some other products that are a part of this promotion so you may be able to get some good deals on some other things as while.

This is part of the “June Dairy Month” promotion when you spend $15 dollars on participating items you automatically save another $5 off your purchase. Kraft cheese is on sale for 2 for $5. So I purchased 6 packs of cheese (to save $5). I used a coupon of coupons.com that is for save 50 cent of the purchase of two Kraft cheese products this coupon doubles to $1 off at Martin’s.

So I purchased 6 packs of Kraft cheese for $7.73, that’s a $1.28 a pack and it was a total savings of $21.14. I used 3 – 50 cent coupons that double to 1 dollar. (Mike and I have 4 devices we can print from) I have posted a picture of the receipt to help see the break down.

With all my purchases I earned 90 cents of a gallon!

So run to Martin’s and pick up these deals!!

They walk!

For the first time tonight, both P and N took their first steps! They have been cursing, and walking with walkers for months now (since about 11 months), and have been standing for a couple of weeks. But have always been to chicken to try by themselves. When I would try to get them to, they would whine and immediately sit down.

Tonight I was sitting in the floor playing with them. Presley stands up and gets a big grin on her face and WALKS over to me for the first time! I was so shocked I made her do it over and over again. Then Noah made a weird giggle stood up and walked over to me too! Also for the first time! He wasn't going to let his sister out do him!

I cant wait to practice more tomorrow! My preemies learning to walk at 12 months (13 months tomorrow)!

Beach Babies

My blonde hair, blue eye boy, and my brown hair, tan skin, brown eyed girl love the beach! Yes I know they look nothing alike ;)

Nutrisystem Week 4

I'll start with the same wordiness as last week. Today marks they end of my 3rd week on Nutrisystem and the start of my 4th week. Nutrisystem is going well. So far I have lost 7lbs! I am happy about this. This weekend we went out of town for a family reunion at the beach. It made staying on the diet a little tricky but at the same time it was easy. I brought my food with me and ate it while there. I had a couple of drinks (wine one night, beer one night, and one night a margarita) while there to add to my calories and ate out smartly twice.

One time was on the drive back we stopped at Cracker Barrel and I had 1 piece of grilled catfish and some turnip greens, so a pretty healthy choice. On the way down I had a lunch bar. If I had another lunch bar I would have ate that but I was out of them and all other choices needed to be microwave so that doesn't work well for a car trip. The second time I ate out was when everyone went out to eat for a family dinner. I had a small helping of crab dip, 1 crab cake (it came with two I gave one away), and grilled asparagus. So again pretty helping smart eating.

Friday night was pizza and pie night. I ate before hand and was not at all tempted to eat pizza or pie. Saturday we went to a diner for lunch and same thing I ate before hand and did not eat anything while out, just drank a glass of water.

So really staying on nutrisystem while out of town wasn't hard, maybe a little tricky, and lastly even when having to eat out nutrisystem helps you to think about your food choices and portion sizes in a whole new way.

Lastly I have been meaning to post pictures of what a nutrisystem meal looks like... so here is a picture of one of my favorite dinner meals, chicken breast stuffed with broccoli, with my add on, collard greens. Yum.

Toddler Quiche for the picky eater!

First off blogging from my phone on a 5 hour car trip!! Woohoo... More about that later.

So I'm battling the picky eater stage with N and am coming up with solutions. Also I love this recipe because you make it one day and it lasts for several days after that! Just heat up in the microwave for  breakfast, lunch, or dinner and serve!

What do you need?

5 eggs
Milk
Cheese (I used both Parmesan and cheddar)
Frozen veggies (I used peas, carrots, green beans, and broccoli)
Lunch meat (I used ham)
Pie Pan
Pam or butter

This quiche is crust less. Spray pie pan with pam. Pre heat oven to 350. Pick out your frozen veggies microwave in a bowl of water for 2 minutes. Scramble eggs, add cheese and milk (I eye ball measurements). Throw veggies and lunch meat  in baby blender and blend (so that toddler can not pick them out). Combine egg mix with veggie meat mash. Pour in pie tray, bake for 30 minutes in oven.

Then it's ready to serve and remember the best part is it will last for days!

Before going in the oven.

30 minutes later.

Yummy!

Ok works much better cut up ;)
