Diaper needs for the 1st year

I am a planner, I am a do-er, I am a money saver, I am a helper!

I have been in full Heather planning mode since my awesome gender reveal party! I am having a girl and a boy! One of each - the best of both worlds! - I have done a lot of gender-ish needed planning since finding out the sexes of the twins.
But have still been worrying about the NEEDS like diapers. Everyone makes them sound so expensive. Especially since I will have double duty…. Well after a little research… okay, okay A LOT of research – because that’s what I do! I have found some pretty good deals on diapering my two little ones and I have started my stock pile. I created a chart to make sure I didn’t buy too many of one size and was getting the best deals. For best deals - I priced checked everywhere! This took a lot of time and research. Make sure you are always paying attention to how much each diaper cost and not the cost of  the case since case sizes can vary from store to store. I found the best deals are online everytime, they beat out every store, you do not have to pay tax and can always get free shipping. Sometimes free 2 day shipping.
The twin charts I created were modified from a "Babies R US" diaper needs chart I found while starting my baby registery. I researched and considered their birth weight and compiled a chart that will help me to stock pile diapers without going overboard. It’s the consumer scientist in me!

This chart took days of research and I think it will be very helpful to parents in the same situation! Enjoy!
·    Note diaper prices used in charts are based on everyday prices. You can still use coupons and other special offers to get the prices down. I just bought a box of size 1 diapers for 14 cents a diaper with  the help of manufacture coupons and online coupon codes. It was a total of $17 off the case.
Of course there is still the chance that you get too many of one size or your baby is allergic to the brand... another great thing about Amazon and Diapers.com is that it offers hassle free returns up to 365 days after the purchased date.

I am a planner, and one thing you learn when you are a good planner... is things DO NOT always go as planned -- you must be flexible, and sometimes you must change the plan as you go. I 100% get this and deal with it on a daily basis (I am a teacher) but this is a great starting point! I am going to try to track it once the twins get here to see how accurate it is for me.
Hope this helps some else out there!

XoXo,
Heather

updated picture below...My Stockpile as of 8/13/12

Updated 6/18/13 - This research and chart I made to track my stock pile of diapers has been a huge lifesaver. I do NOT have to run to the store to buy diapers because I am running out. It helped us hugely on our budget as we purchased most of the diapers before they were even born. Lastly because I started this stock pile, now I can save coupons and wait for big sales on diapers and I can get them super cheap! Way cheaper than the everyday prices I mentioned above. I post diapers and wipe deals I find on this website. So just click the diapers label for more information.

Pregnancy is beautiful

This has been the longest week ever. I am 17 weeks today. This week as been long for several reasons one I have been so exhausted and two on Saturday is the gender reveal. When I will finally know for sure what my two little peas in a pod are! Even tho they have always been what they are!

Exhaustion! OMG! I have been so beat. Second trimester is supposed to be the easy energize time in pregnancy. And I am sure when I look back on this pregnancy it will be the easiest of the three but that is what scares me. It is of course going to get worse!

Pretty sure everyone knows about my 1st trimester. I spent months throwing up 10 times a day. Now the throwing up is pretty much under control, but still randomly happens.

For example last night at 7pm. I decided I was tired enough to go to bed for the night. I went to bed and Mike came to read the twins a bed time story J. Katherine just got me a book “Oh, Baby, the Places You’ll Go!” A book to be read in utero. It’s too cute and made me cry several times. (This is easy to do.)  Well in the middle of Mike reading the book, I got really sick feeling… the next thing I knew I was throwing up like crazy. It was a quick, heavy load session. But it was so random.

Then this morning I woke up one hour before my alarm goes off. I did not feel well and knew I was going to throw up. As I ran to the bathroom to do so my stomach contracted getting ready to vomit and my bladder couldn’t take it. I peed my 1st morning pee all over myself. Pregnancy is beautiful.
